Introduction

ATNS is seeking candidates to deliver Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP) training courses and research product offerings aligned with the ATA and broader ATNS deliverables to enable the most effective and efficient delivery of training solutions for internal and selected international clients within and outside the ATM community.

Key Responsibilities

• Observe and study new instructional techniques for conducting classes and implement measures to improve training delivery.
• Conduct training content analysis (TCA) on training product offerings and provide necessary training interventions.
• Conduct training needs analysis (TNA) on ATNS ATSEP, external ANSPs or CAAs and support staff, and provide training proposals.
• Assist and coordinate the installation / implementation of engineering training systems at the ATA.
• Interpret performance, reliability, maintainability, availability, and monitoring of ATM / CNS systems for statistical purposes.
• Design survey instruments to determine the validity, sufficiency, and quality of product offerings.
• Research future ATM / CNS systems and provide solutions to keep the department competitive.
• Compile comprehensive reports and implementation plans on research conducted in the external professional environment.
• Apply appropriate research methodologies, analyze results, and formulate new concepts and ideas.
• Produce research papers benefiting the aviation fraternity.
• Assess students in compliance with QMS procedures and curricula.
• Present core and elective courses outside of expertise areas as needed.
• Create and moderate assessment tools and workbooks for ATSEP courses.
• Develop unit training course materials to meet performance needs.
• Evaluate qualification program effectiveness and suggest improvements.
• Support and guide ATNS Technology and Information for on-the-job training and competency-based assessment.
• Mentor engineering instructors and support personnel.
• Engage with OEMs on future training systems and recommend interventions.
• Collaborate with tertiary institutions on research-based training solutions for seamless student transition from academic to work environment.

Minimum Qualifications

B-Tech / B.Eng.

BSc.

Degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Electrical / Electronic / Computer Engineering or equivalent.

Train the Trainer and OJTI qualification from an approved institution.

Minimum of five years' experience in course presentation, research, operation, maintenance, and engineering support of ATM / CNS systems and associated training systems.
