About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Infrastructure Project Manager to oversee significant infrastructure development projects in the Upington region. This role is crucial for managing the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale projects related to utilities, transportation, and public works. You will be responsible for coordinating with engineering teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure projects meet stringent quality, safety, and environmental standards. As this is a site-intensive role, a strong on-site presence is required to effectively manage project operations, drive progress, and ensure the successful completion of vital infrastructure within the Northern Cape. Your leadership will be key to the region's development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end management of major infrastructure projects, from conceptualization and design to construction and handover.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope definition, scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management.
• Oversee and coordinate the work of engineering consultants, contractors, and specialized subcontractors.
• Ensure strict adherence to all relevant building codes, safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control protocols.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, including government agencies, utility providers, and community representatives.
• Conduct regular site inspections, progress meetings, and risk assessments to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 9 years of progressive experience in infrastructure project management , with a proven record of delivering large-scale projects.
• In-depth knowledge of infrastructure development, construction methodologies, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, risk management, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Proficiency with project management software and tools.
• Must be willing to commit to a full-time, on-site role in and around Upington .
