Job description

We are looking for a Highflying Senior Infrastructure Engineer: Security to take accountability for assisting the CISO in planning, organizing, controlling, and managing all platforms and implementing the related infrastructure strategy. The role works closely with our technology teams to provide support necessary for a secure and agile environment, with continuous improvement and assessment, as well as managing and developing our cloud infrastructure. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer: Security reports to the CISO.

Responsibilities of the Role

• Support the Infrastructure Security team and help define the organization's long-term vision.
• Own the cross-functional roadmap for Infrastructure Security in partnership with the organization.
• Manage security services in hybrid environments (AWS and on-premises).
• Collaborate with Network, Infrastructure, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance teams to identify gaps, scope requirements, prioritize, and execute key deliverables.
• Develop secure products, systems, and solutions leveraging industry best practices in data security, cloud security, authentication/authorization, intrusion detection, and vulnerability management.
• Monitor the changing business landscape and product roadmap to anticipate risks and align future projects strategically.
• Develop and manage cloud and on-premises security controls and facilitate their implementation.
• Compile metrics for CISO review.
• Identify areas for continuous security and operational improvement to support Information Security Office initiatives.
• Lead security incident response activities in the cloud.
• Support the cloud and on-premises security teams in achieving departmental goals.
• Install, configure, operate, maintain, and monitor messaging engine hardware, software, and related infrastructure with a focus on high availability, stability, and security.
• Conduct technical research and development to enable ongoing innovation within the infrastructure.
• Audit and analyze logs and system data for troubleshooting and vulnerability identification.
• Ensure network, hardware, OS, software applications, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, customers, and partners.
• Serve as a technical liaison with enterprise customers and vendors as required.
• Service, maintain, and support global platforms with a focus on high availability and security.
• Conduct proactive security weakness analysis and recommend strategies.

Operations and Support

• Build, maintain, and improve the security assessment of the estate.
• Visualize security posture and drive positive trends aligned with security best practices.
• Perform risk assessments and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business strategies.
• Manage security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, and proxies.
• Implement and maintain a SIEM platform.
• Maintain the Identity and Access Management (IAM) environment.
• Provide escalated technical support requiring on-site presence.
• Monitor systems, verify hardware and system integrity, review logs, and ensure scheduled jobs are completed.

Requirements of the Role

• Related IT qualification with a specialization in security (preferred).
• At least 5 years in an infrastructure security role.
• AWS Cloud Technology certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CEH, or CISM (preferred).

Work Experience

• Cisco ASA Firewall experience (CCNP Security advantageous).
• Experience with vulnerability scanning software like Nessus.
• Experience with AWS Cloud Technologies, including IAM, WAF, ELB, SecurityHUB, and CloudTrail.
• Knowledge of security systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
• Experience implementing and maintaining SIEM solutions.

Knowledge and Abilities

• Monitoring and alerting experience with open-source tools like Icinga/Nagios, Nagvis, Logstash, Elasticsearch, Graphite, and Kibana (preferred).
• Scripting skills in Perl, Python, Ruby, and/or PHP.
• Deep understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.
