Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Duties :

System Administration

1. Manage and maintain servers and storage systems.
2. Develop and implement monitoring and maintenance strategies to ensure the health and performance of IT systems.
3. Ensure infrastructure security by implementing best practices and compliance with industry standards.
4. Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery Plans and perform regular testing.
5. Ensure backup, recovery, and replicating infrastructure is performing optimally.
6. Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
7. Work closely with Development, Operations, and other teams to support their infrastructure and database needs and ensure seamless integration.
8. Ensure infrastructure scalability and flexibility to adapt to growing business needs.
9. Create and maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure configurations, procedures, and processes.

SQL Database Support

1. Install, configure, and maintain SQL database servers and processes.
2. Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security.
3. Monitor and troubleshoot SQL Server performance issues.
4. Optimize SQL queries and database performance.
5. Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, indexing, and updating statistics.
6. Implement and maintain database security measures.
7. Develop and implement disaster recovery plans for SQL databases.

Cloud Services

1. Deploy, manage, and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure, including cloud-based SQL databases.
2. Develop migration strategies and plans, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
3. Execute and oversee the migration process, including data migration, application rehosting, and infrastructure reconfiguration.
4. Optimize Azure resources and services for performance, cost, and security.
5. Evaluate and recommend new cloud services and technologies to improve business operations.
6. Provide guidance and best practices for using Azure services, including virtual machines, databases, storage, and networking.
7. Understand ETL and the use of Azure Data Factory or Synapse.

Local Work

1. Create and maintain mailboxes for the company with EntraID and Exchange server.
2. Maintain and assist with 4me support tickets.
3. Knowledge of the entire Azure infrastructure and all its components.
4. Act as an IT consultant to the Wintel IT team on hard technical issues.
5. Educate and train IT staff to be IT staff and team leaders.

Requirements :

1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or a related study or equivalent experience.
2. Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, or similar.
3. SQL database certifications such as Azure Database Administrator Associate.
4. Certification in Microsoft Technologies (MCSE / MCDBA).
