The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and infrastructure of IT systems.

The Systems Engineer will help build, maintain, and troubleshoot the company's rapidly expanding infrastructure. You will be part of a talented team demonstrating superb technical competency, delivering mission-critical infrastructure, and ensuring high levels of availability, performance, and security.

Primary Duties:

1. Managing, configuring, and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure
2. Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and management tools
3. Ensuring maximum system and infrastructure availability
4. Researching new/current technologies and applying them within the organization
5. Keeping abreast of strategic information management developments and advising accordingly
6. Formulating policies, procedures, and directives for the IT environment
7. Developing and evolving the IT Target Operating Model in line with business plans
8. Ensuring robust security with tight access management and change log tracking
9. Establishing and implementing disaster recovery plans
10. Ensuring sufficient capacity in the IT environment based on business forecasts
11. Overseeing all IT projects

Skills and Competencies:

• Effective presentation skills for one-on-one and small group interactions
• Ability to simplify complex security, networking, and investigative concepts
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Basic understanding of programming languages
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Ability to convey complex technical security concepts to diverse audiences
• Experience with programming languages such as BASH, Python, Go, Ruby, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of programming techniques and languages
• Expertise in Linux/GNU operations, administration, security, troubleshooting, and optimization
• Experience with Linux/UNIX security, intrusion detection/prevention, auditing, and recovery
• Proficiency in LAMP-based systems
• Database administration skills in MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL
• Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware and OpenStack
• Knowledge of policy and procedure-driven system administration
• Introductory knowledge of security tools, both open-source and commercial

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related IT field; Linux, Fortinet, and AWS certifications preferred
• Network administration and management experience
• Development and scripting skills beneficial
• Minimum 8 years of IT experience, especially in infrastructure and networks
