Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing operational processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement within the Polokwane, Limpopo, ZA region's operational framework.
• Develop and implement data-driven strategies for process optimization, waste reduction, and efficiency enhancement using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other relevant methodologies.
• Design and model new process flows, layouts, and systems to improve productivity, quality, and safety standards.
• Conduct time and motion studies, capacity planning, and resource allocation analyses.
• Develop and maintain performance metrics and dashboards to track key operational indicators and measure the impact of implemented changes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, from shop floor personnel to senior management, to ensure buy-in and successful adoption of proposed solutions.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior engineering staff and operational teams on best practices and continuous improvement techniques.
• Research and recommend new technologies and tools that can enhance operational performance and competitiveness.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on findings, recommendations, and project progress for senior leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.
• Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing complex optimization projects that delivered measurable results.
• In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred), Theory of Constraints, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in data analysis, simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic), CAD software, and standard office productivity suites.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote setting.
• Self-starter with a high degree of autonomy and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience working in a remote-first environment is highly desirable.
