An exciting opportunity exists for a highly experienced and multi-skilled Senior ICT Service Technician to join a well-established ICT solutions provider in Newcastle.
The successful candidate will operate in a senior, hands-on capacity, offering support across multiple technology platforms and client environments.
This role suits a dynamic team leader with strong technical capabilities across ICT, CCTV, PABX, telecommunications, and office automation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as a Multi-skilled Technician / Specialist
- Install, repair, service and support:
- CCTV Systems
- PABX / VoIP
- Telecommunication Systems
- Photocopiers and Office Automation
- ICT Infrastructure and Networking
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior technicians.
- Work closely with the Service Supervisor on planning, scheduling, client service and escalation matters.
- Maintain a CRM system for logging work, updates and reporting.
- Conduct preventative maintenance in line with service standards.
- Attend to field service calls and complete jobs at client sites.
- Carry out equipment installations, network setups and troubleshooting.
- Assist with technical support, training, and on-site testing.
- Ensure proper documentation of tasks, fault reports and service sheets.
- Travel as required to client sites.
- Must be physically fit and able to manage heavier office automation hardware.
Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12
- Tertiary qualification or ICT technical trade (adv)
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant field service experience
- Strong exposure to a variety of systems including:
- CCTV / Security Surveillance
- ICT Support & Networking
- PABX / VoIP Solutions
- Telecoms Infrastructure
- Photocopier and OA Hardware
- Strong installation, networking, and fault-finding skills.
- Experience in setting up print/scan to folder/email functionality.
- Good knowledge of technical manuals, diagrams and part catalogues.
- Proven ability to work independently and lead a team.
- Must reside in or near Newcastle.
