Job summary

Arup seeks a Senior Transmission Substation Engineer to join our Energy Transmission team in Cape Town or Johannesburg. You will deliver technically on EHV/HV substation projects, lead design activities, and mentor engineers.

The role covers concept through detail design, with emphasis on AIS/GIS substations and protection schemes. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and strong client delivery are essential.

Qualifications

• BSc or BEng in Electrical Engineering; ECSA registration preferred.
• Experience in design and delivery of EHV and HV (765kV-132kV) Substations.
• Experience analyzing AIS and GIS substations networks.
• Client/project management as technical lead on project tasks.
• Hands-on knowledge of substation design software such as CDEGS.
