Job summary

SafetySA is seeking an experienced HSE Auditor & Consultant to conduct independent Health, Safety, and Environmental audits and provide specialist consulting services across South Africa. The role involves developing and optimizing integrated HSE Management Systems for general industry and construction projects throughout the country.

Responsibilities include leading HSE compliance audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and governance reporting, while advising clients on regulatory

Qualifications

• Experience conducting Health, Safety, and Environmental audits across general industry and construction sectors.
• Knowledge of OHS Act, Construction Regulations, NEMA, and NOSA 5-Star requirements is preferred.
• Ability to develop, implement, and improve integrated HSE management systems.
• Proven track record in risk-based auditing and recommending practical improvements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive HSE audits across general industry and construction environments.
• Evaluate compliance with OHS Act and related regulations.
• Assess HSE management system effectiveness and identify non-conformances.
• Develop and implement integrated HSE management systems for clients.
• Lead incident investigations using ICAM, BowTie, TapRooT, or similar methods.
• Provide specialist HSE consulting services and governance recommendations.
• Engage with clients to present audit findings and improvement plans.
• Prepare detailed audit and risk assessment reports and monitor corrective actions.
