Job summary

VirtuHire is seeking a Human Resources and Industrial Relations Manager to own the HR function across our managed client accounts, with a key account in a fast-moving outbound sales contact centre in Cape Town. The role is hands-on, highly autonomous and end-to-end oriented, including disciplinary hearings and collaboration with external counsel.

You will work closely with the Sales Director and Head of Sales Enablement, ensure defensible documentation under SA labour law, oversee payroll,

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Labour Law or a cognate field.
• Minimum of three years of hands-on generalist HR experience, with substantial industrial relations exposure.
• Demonstrable experience chairing or initiating disciplinary hearings.
• Applied working knowledge of the Labour Relations Act, the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, the Employment Equity Act, POPIA and Schedule 8 of the Code of Good Practice on Dismissal.
• Experience running or supporting a full payroll cycle, preferably on SimplePay.
• Strong written English and the ability to manage complex documentation with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Own the disciplinary process end-to-end, from incident report to final outcome.
• Manage CCMA referrals from receipt through conciliation, con-arb and arbitration.
• Draft and issue notices, statements, witnesses and bundles for hearings.
• Maintain disciplinary registers, compliance with timelines and accuracy of records.
• Oversee onboarding, employment documentation and background verification for new starters.
• Advise line management on conduct and performance risks and document clearly.
