Client based in Cape Town seeks the services of an HR Business Partner for the Retail and Back Office functions in South Africa, acting as a facilitator and influencer on all HR topics.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders on key HR topics such as talent management, succession planning, development, resourcing, and performance.
- Provide HR solutions to attract, develop, motivate, and retain top talent.
- Focus on HR priorities including Culture, Leadership, Performance, Diversity, and Development.
- Maintain high communication levels with Business Leaders in South Africa to aid decision-making in structuring and developing effective teams.
- Ensure timely delivery of staffing, employee relations, performance management, and compensation & benefits in compliance with local labor laws, corporate guidelines, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with the Rewards team to develop and implement compensation and benefits programs.
- Partner with senior managers to ensure HR practices and processes are well understood and implemented.
- Work closely with Talent Acquisition to ensure future resourcing and succession planning for key roles.
- Drive employee engagement through motivation, coaching, training, and development initiatives, coordinating with L&D for appropriate development plans.
- Lead strategic HR projects to maximize business value in Retail and Back Office sectors.
- Influence and coach middle managers for effective business decision-making.
- Ensure relevant internal communication on organizational topics is effective and engaging.
- Maintain HR data and system integrity, utilizing data for decision-making.
- Ensure accurate employee data updates in SAP HR and effective communication of employee information to relevant departments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to interact at the highest levels and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Proven strategic, commercial-minded HR Business Partner experience.
- Strong coaching and leadership skills.
- Understanding of Group and customer needs.
- Proficiency in MS Office; SAP experience is a plus; Excel skills are essential.
- Experience managing complex HR projects.
- Good knowledge of local Labour Law.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years in HR management within a multinational company, including at least 5 years in middle management.
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally.
- Experience handling employee relations issues, including IR issues and CCMA representation.
