Greys Personnel in Durban seeks a highly experienced Heidelberg Cylinder Operator to join our print production team. The role requires extensive hands-on work, strict adherence to job tickets, and a proven track record in commercial, packaging or lithographic printing.

You will read production orders, set up presses, monitor colour accuracy, and perform routine maintenance to ensure quality and on-time delivery. Strong teamwork and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Matric and/or printing related certification preferred.
• Extensive experience operating a Heidelberg Cylinder printing press.
• Experience in commercial, packaging or lithographic printing.
• Ability to prepare machinery for daily use and run through tickets.
• Strong understanding of print production processes and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Heidelberg Cylinder printing machines.
• Read and interpret job cards and production orders.
• Prepare machine for production by installing plates, adjusting rollers and setting ink levels.
• Monitor print quality for colour consistency and registration.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic preventative care.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues to reduce downtime.
• Maintain production records and report faults.
• Adhere to health, safety and 5S standards.
• Collaborate with quality control and finishing departments to meet specs.
