POSITION INFO :

Senior Health and Safety Officer

Johannesburg

R25,000 - R30,000 / month

Requirements :

• Grade 12
• National Diploma
• Recognized and appropriate health and safety qualifications
• SACPCMP Registration
• SAIOSH Registration

Minimum applicable experience :

• 5 years in Civil Engineering / Construction Background

Required nature of experience :

• Willingness to travel to various sites
• Construction health and safety management.
• Construction project-specific health and safety management systems
• Health and safety performance measurement and monitoring
• Knowledge of applicable legislation
• Relevant experience in the health and safety industry, with specific detail on construction experience.

Skills and Knowledge (essential) :

• Detailed knowledge of construction health and safety requirements at managerial and operational levels.
• Design, compile and implement or manage the health and safety management systems
• Mentor, coach and guide Construction Health and Safety Officers
• Structuring of regulating health and safety and appropriate legal framework for a construction project.
• Implement principles of cause-and-effect analysis and its application to hazard identification and risk management
• Implementation of the fundamentals of leading health and safety practices related to construction operations that are incorporated into health and safety management systems
• Attend and participate in tender clarification meetings
• Costing and budgeting
• Daily Management of Health and Safety Management System
