Calling all accounting superstars! Our client, a dynamic pan-African Telecoms company, is searching for a Senior Group Financial Reporting Accountant to join their team.

In this role, you’ll be a key player in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial health. You’ll develop and implement robust accounting systems while overseeing the consolidation, reporting, and analysis of financial data across the entire group.

Here’s what you’ll do:

• Mastermind of Monthly Reporting: Manage the monthly close process, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts (including bank reconciliations), and consolidate payroll data.
• Consolidation Champion: Run the monthly consolidation process, ensure consistent accounting practices across the group, and prepare consolidated financial reports.
• Annual Audit Ace: Coordinate the annual audit, assist internal and external auditors, compile audit instructions, and help with the preparation of annual financial statements.
• Budgeting and Forecasting Brain: Assist in compiling the consolidated budget, track key financial metrics, and prepare periodic forecast reports.
• Financial Reporting Guru: Analyze variances, maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and prepare regulatory returns (VAT, PAYE, etc.).

We’re looking for someone with the following:

• Honours Degree in Accounting + a relevant professional qualification (CA(SA) preferred).
• 2-3 years of post-qualification experience (Big 4 experience a plus).
• Solid understanding of IFRS and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Expertise in consolidation, budgeting, and foreign currency transactions.
• Experience with preparing annual financial statements and taxation calculations.
• Knowledge of Corporate and Indirect Tax (VAT, withholding tax).
