Job summary

RemoteCA Limited is seeking a Senior Group Accountant to lead the group close for multiple entities and currencies within the Group Finance function. You will own month-end processes, intercompany accounting, FX, and support automation initiatives across finance.

The role targets a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting fundamentals and experience in banking, fintech, payments or financial services, with ERP and Excel skills, and Dynamics 365 knowledge advantageous.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CA(SA)/CPA or equivalent.
• 2–4+ years post-qualification experience.
• Banking/fintech/financial services experience preferred.
• Audit-trained candidates welcome.
• Strong ERP and Excel skills; Dynamics 365 advantageous.
• Experience with multi-entity/multi-currency accounting and intercompany processes.

Responsibilities

• Own key elements of the monthly group close across multiple entities and currencies.
• Prepare and review accruals, prepayments, payroll, intercompany, FX and GL journals.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate ageing items.
• Manage intercompany accounting, reconciliations and settlement processes.
• Support FX accounting, revaluations and related controls.
• Support audits and assist with audit deliverables.
• Identify opportunities to automate finance processes using ERP, data and AI-enabled tools.

Job description

We are recruiting a Senior Group Accountant for a growing international business operating across multiple entities, currencies and markets.

This role sits within the Group Finance function and will take ownership of key areas of the month-end close, balance sheet control, intercompany accounting and FX, while supporting wider finance transformation, automation and process improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting fundamentals and experience within banking, fintech, payments or broader financial services.

Key Responsibilities

• Own key elements of the monthly group close across multiple entities and currencies.
• Prepare and review accruals, prepayments, payroll, intercompany, FX and general ledger journals.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding or ageing items.
• Manage intercompany accounting, reconciliations and settlement processes.
• Support FX accounting, revaluations and related financial controls.
• Maintain strong financial controls and support improvements to accounting policies and processes.
• Support half-year and year-end audits and take ownership of assigned audit deliverables.
• Identify opportunities to improve and automate finance processes using ERP, data and AI-enabled tools.
• Work closely with Financial Control, Statutory Reporting, Finance Transformation and wider finance teams.
• Provide support and cover to the General Ledger Manager when required.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CA(SA), CPA or equivalent.
• Approximately 2–4+ years' post-qualification experience.
• Banking, fintech, payments or financial services experience strongly preferred.
• Audit-trained candidates, particularly from a recognised accounting firm, will be highly regarded.

• Financial controls and audit
• Strong ERP and Excel skills; Dynamics 365 experience would be advantageous.

• An interest in finance transformation, process improvement and automation is highly desirable.
