About the Role

Our client, a distinguished geotechnical engineering firm, is actively seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their established team in Klerksdorp, North West. This role is crucial for leading geotechnical investigations, analyzing site conditions, and providing expert design recommendations for a variety of construction projects. You will be at the forefront of ensuring the stability and safety of foundations, earthworks, and infrastructure across the North West region. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and execute comprehensive geotechnical site investigations, including borehole drilling, CPT testing, and in‑situ testing.
• Analyze and interpret geotechnical data, including soil and rock properties, groundwater conditions, and seismic assessments.
• Perform detailed design calculations for shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, slope stability, and earthworks.
• Prepare high‑quality geotechnical reports, including findings, analysis, design recommendations, and risk assessments.
• Provide expert geotechnical advice and consultation to clients, developers, architects, and other engineering disciplines.
• Oversee construction quality control for earthworks and foundation installations, including site inspections and material testing.
• Develop innovative and cost‑effective geotechnical solutions tailored to specific project requirements.
• Manage geotechnical projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
• Mentor and supervise junior geotechnical engineers and technicians, fostering their technical development.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in geotechnical engineering practice, equipment, and software.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with ECSA is essential.
• A minimum of 7 years of hands‑on experience in geotechnical investigation, analysis, and design.
• Proven track record in managing geotechnical projects of varying scales and complexities.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software such as Plaxis, GeoStudio Suite, WALLAP, etc.
• Strong knowledge of site investigation methods and laboratory testing procedures.
• Excellent report writing skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage client relationships effectively.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites within Klerksdorp, North West, and surrounding areas.
