About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a distinguished Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their fully remote, innovative team. This role is critical for ensuring the stability and suitability of ground conditions for a wide range of construction projects. You will be instrumental in conducting site investigations, analyzing soil and rock mechanics, and providing expert recommendations for foundation design, slope stability, and earthworks. As a key remote member of our client's engineering division, you will collaborate with project teams globally, contributing your specialized knowledge to ensure the success and safety of infrastructure developments while enjoying the advantages of a home-based career and contributing to significant advancements in construction engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and interpret geotechnical investigations, including site characterization and laboratory testing programs.
- Perform complex geotechnical analyses such as slope stability, settlement analysis, foundation design (shallow and deep), and seismic hazard assessments.
- Develop detailed geotechnical reports, design recommendations, and construction specifications for foundations, retaining walls, tunnels, and other subsurface structures.
- Provide expert technical consultation to project managers, structural engineers, and construction teams remotely.
- Review and approve designs and construction methods related to earthworks and foundations, ensuring compliance with geotechnical engineering standards.
- Mentor and guide junior geotechnical engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the virtual team.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering practice.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional certification required.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GEO5, FLAC, or similar analysis tools.
- Solid understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and hydrogeology.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing comprehensive geotechnical reports and presenting findings to clients and project teams.
