About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Lead Civil Engineer with a specialization in geotechnical engineering to join their fully remote team. This pivotal role involves leading the investigation, analysis, and design of foundation systems, earthworks, and slope stability for major infrastructure and construction projects across various regions. You will be instrumental in ensuring the safety and integrity of these structures by providing expert geotechnical insights and managing complex technical challenges. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage geotechnical investigations, including soil testing, site characterization, and risk assessment for diverse construction projects.
- Develop detailed geotechnical designs for foundations, retaining walls, tunnels, and earth structures, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, technical memoranda, and design documentation for client and regulatory review.
- Provide expert technical consultation and support to project teams, construction personnel, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee the quality control and assurance of geotechnical data and designs, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Mentor and guide junior geotechnical engineers and technicians, fostering technical excellence within the remote engineering department.
Requirements
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with a geotechnical specialization.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record on complex projects.
- Extensive knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and numerical modeling techniques (e.g., finite element analysis).
- Proficiency in specialized geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio suite) and general CAD software.
- Excellent report writing, presentation, and communication skills, vital for remote collaboration.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent registration is strongly preferred.
