About the Role

Our client, a leading engineering consultancy firm specializing in infrastructure and energy projects, is seeking a highly qualified Senior Geotechnical Engineer for their office in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga . This role involves providing expert geotechnical advice and design solutions for a variety of projects, including foundations for power plants, wind turbines, and other critical energy infrastructure. The successful candidate will lead site investigations, analyze soil and rock mechanics, and develop comprehensive foundation designs to ensure structural integrity and safety. You will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects in the Mpumalanga region, contributing to the development of robust energy infrastructure across South Africa .

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise geotechnical site investigations, including drilling and in-situ testing.
• Analyze soil, rock, and groundwater conditions to assess geotechnical hazards.
• Design foundations for various structures, including shallow and deep foundations.
• Perform stability analyses for slopes, excavations, and earth structures.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, calculations, and design drawings.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior geotechnical engineers.
• Collaborate with structural engineers, civil engineers, and project managers.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to site queries during construction.
• Ensure compliance with relevant geotechnical standards and building codes.
• Contribute to business development efforts and client relationship management in Nelspruit .

Requirements
