Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting for a globally recognized energy exploration leader seeking a Senior Geophysical Interpreter to join its fully remote team. The role focuses on seismic data interpretation to identify hydrocarbon prospects and explore opportunities.

You will use Petrel, Kingdom Suite and GeoGraphix to analyze 2D/3D seismic data, integrate with well, gravity and other datasets, and develop subsurface models.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Geophysics, Geology, or related Earth Science field.
• Minimum of 10 years of seismic interpretation experience in oil and gas exploration.
• Proven track record interpreting complex geological settings (structural & stratigraphic plays).
• Expertise in industry-standard seismic interpretation and visualization software.
• Strong understanding of seismic data processing principles and their impact on interpretation.
• Proficiency in quantitative seismic interpretation techniques (AVO analysis, impedance inversion).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Independent work capability and effective remote collaboration.
• Experience with unconventional resource plays is a plus.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyze large 2D and 3D seismic datasets to identify geological structures, stratigraphic features, and potential hydrocarbon reservoirs.
• Integrate seismic interpretations with well data, gravity, magnetic, and other geophysical/geological datasets.
• Utilize advanced geophysical software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite, GeoGraphix) for data processing, visualization, and interpretation.
• Perform amplitude and attribute analysis, seismic inversions, and other advanced quantitative seismic techniques.
• Identify and map exploration leads and prospects, evaluating their potential size, risk, and economic viability.
• Collaborate closely with geologists and reservoir engineers to build integrated subsurface models and provide geophysical input for prospect evaluations.
• Prepare clear and concise geophysical reports, presentations, and prospect maps for management and technical teams.
• Contribute to seismic data acquisition design and processing workflows, providing expert guidance.
• Mentor junior geophysicists and share knowledge to enhance the team's overall technical capabilities.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in geophysical technologies, interpretation methods, and exploration best practices.

Requirements
