Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geologist for our client in Pretoria, Gauteng. The role focuses on identifying and evaluating hydrocarbon prospects through subsurface analysis, using seismic interpretation and geological modeling.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology or related Earth Science.
• 8+ years of geological exploration experience in Oil & Gas.
• Proven seismic interpretation and structural geology expertise.
• Experience with basin analysis and petroleum system modeling.
• Proficiency with Petrel, Kingdom, GeoGraphix.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Hybrid work environment in Pretoria.

Responsabilités

• Interpret geological and geophysical data to define subsurface structures and stratigraphy.
• Develop regional and prospect-specific geological models.
• Evaluate petroleum systems, including source, migration, reservoir, and trap presence and effectiveness.
• Integrate diverse datasets to assess exploration risk and quantify potential hydrocarbon volumes.
• Collaborate with reservoir and drilling engineers on prospect maturation and development planning.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and prospect evaluations for management and potential partners.
• Mentor junior geologists and contribute to the team's technical expertise.
