Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Geologist to lead exploration initiatives in the Mining and Energy sectors. The role is fully remote, enabling you to guide projects from anywhere in the country while mentoring geologists and technicians.

You will develop geological models, assess resource opportunities, and prepare technical reports for senior management and potential investors, with a strong emphasis on data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Geology or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in exploration geology, with a strong emphasis on mining and energy resources.
• Demonstrated expertise in structural geology, stratigraphy, sedimentology, and economic geology.
• Proficiency in geological software packages (Leapfrog, ArcGIS, Vulcan) and database management.
• Proven ability to design and manage complex exploration projects, including budget and timeline control.
• Excellent analytical, interpretive, and written communication skills, with a track record of successful reporting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute geological exploration programs, including field mapping, sampling, and data acquisition for mineral and energy resources.
• Analyze geological data (geochemical, geophysical, drill core) to interpret subsurface structures and identify potential resource targets.
