Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology or Earth Sciences.
• PhD is advantageous.
• 7-9 years of relevant exploration experience in the energy sector.
• Proven seismic interpretation and subsurface mapping expertise.
• Experience with Southern African basins is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead geological interpretations of seismic, well log, and core data to identify and assess exploration targets.
• Develop and manage geological models for prospective areas, incorporating all available subsurface data.
• Plan and oversee geological field studies and data acquisition programs.
• Evaluate exploration opportunities and prepare geological reports and recommendations for management.
• Collaborate closely with geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and drilling teams to optimize exploration strategies.
• Conduct detailed risk assessments for exploration prospects.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior geologists.
• Stay current with advancements in geological software, techniques, and exploration technologies.
• Contribute to the company's exploration strategy and business development initiatives.
• Ensure geological data integrity and proper database management.
