Job Opportunity : Senior General Financial Accounts Administrator Start Date : ASAP Job Description : Senior General Financial Accounts Administrator Location : Carletonville, Gauteng Salary : R15,000.00 – R20,000.00 per month (depending on experience) Department : Finance Reports To : Financial Manager / Managing Director About the Company Peoplesync is recruiting on behalf of a respected shop fitting company seeking a reliable and detail-driven Senior General Financial Accounts Administrator. The successful candidate will play an essential role in maintaining the financial health of the business, with duties spanning general accounts administration, accounts payable and receivable, and vendor / supplier management within a fast-paced, project-based environment. This role requires someone with solid experience in financial administration, particularly within industries like manufacturing, construction, or retail fitouts, where managing cost control and supplier coordination is vital. Key Responsibilities Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy in line with company accounting policies. Process and manage accounts payable, including capturing supplier invoices, verifying against delivery notes and purchase orders, and reconciling supplier statements. Handle accounts receivable, including generating client invoices, following up on payments, and managing outstanding debtors. Liaise with vendors and service providers, maintain updated supplier records, resolve queries, and monitor contract obligations and payments. Track and monitor project costs, liaising with project managers to ensure correct cost allocations. Prepare and post journal entries and month-end adjustments. Assist with monthly and year-end financial reporting and reconciliations. Support audit preparation and compliance with regulatory standards. Identify process improvements to streamline finance operations and support better cash flow management. Provide administrative support to the finance team and senior management as needed. Minimum Requirements 3+ years’ experience in a similar role involving general financial administration. Sound knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions. Strong understanding of supplier invoicing processes, credit terms, and reconciliations. Experience dealing with creditors and debtors in a project-based or production-driven business (e.g. shop fitting, construction, manufacturing). Computer literate, with proficiency in accounting software (Sage / Pastel / Xero or similar) and Microsoft Excel. Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail. Organised, deadline-driven, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications A diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Previous experience in a shop fitting, retail build, or construction company is highly advantageous. Familiarity with costing, job cards, and purchase order systems is beneficial.
