Placements24 is seeking a Senior Game Writer based in our Rustenburg studio to craft compelling narratives, lore, and dialogue for upcoming titles. You will shape characters and storylines and collaborate with designers, artists, and programmers to embed narrative design into gameplay.

The role demands a deep understanding of interactive storytelling and strong writing craft to elevate player experience across diverse game worlds.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Game Writing or narrative design.
• Strong portfolio with narrative design work and published writing samples for games.
• Excellent command of storytelling techniques, character development, and dialogue writing.
• Familiarity with game development pipelines and collaborative tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and write engaging narratives, character backstories, quest dialogue, and in-game text.
• Collaborate with game designers to integrate narrative elements into gameplay mechanics and progression.
• Create detailed narrative design documents, outlines, and scripts for development teams.
• Edit and polish existing narrative content for consistency, clarity, and emotional impact.
• Contribute to world-building, lore development, and narrative consistency across the game.
• Provide creative input and feedback on story elements during all phases of game development.
