Key Responsibilities
- Procure and build appropriate ranges aligned to the strategy, with special attention to trading opportunities.
- Assess complex situations and implement workable solutions.
- Maintain high organization and prioritization skills.
- Source and procure a balanced range of merchandise in line with company strategy.
- Work closely with the planner, analyzing sales patterns, market trends, and brand initiatives.
- Formulate departmental strategies to maximize sales and source stock to implement these strategies.
- Negotiate effectively to meet financial KPIs.
- Build and maintain good relationships with employees, suppliers, and key business functions.
- Contribute to growth and profit through innovative ideas.
- Availability to travel on buying trips (local and international).
- Understand and deliver a clear product strategy aligned with store brand strategies.
- Think strategically about the 'big picture' as well as specifics and details.
- Drive product efficiencies and key performance measures.
- Communicate effectively at all levels.
- Foster collaboration across buying and planning teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma, Graduate Degree, or Postgraduate Degree.
- At least 4+ years of experience as a Buyer.
- Understanding of the retail cycle and buying process.
- Proficiency with computer software such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and email.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in product development.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Good analytical skills.
- Solid understanding of the Quick Response model.
- Interior Design and Furniture Design experience is an advantage.
