Job summary

Apex Group in Cape Town seeks a Senior Fund Accountant to oversee NAV preparation, financial statements, and client reporting. You will work under a Manager, developing junior staff and ensuring high-quality service to clients.

You will coordinate with managers and directors to meet regulatory and statutory obligations and contribute to continuous improvement of the fund administration function. The role requires a Commerce degree and CA(SA) eligibility.

Qualifications

• Commerce degree with eligible to register as CA(SA); no post article experience required.
• Proficient in MS Excel.
• Structural and detail orientated.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritise work and meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication and organisation skills.
• Motivated and driven.
• Fund related accounting experience will be an advantage.
• Private Debt, Capital Markets, Real Assets or Private Equity knowledge will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Work with senior team to ensure planning, coordination and completion of NAVs, Management Reporting and Statutory Reporting for corporate entities.
• Mentor and supervise trainee fund accountants and fund accountants.
• Liaise with fund managers, brokers and custodians to resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure client duties are met in line with deadlines, compliance and reporting obligations.
• Assist external auditors to enable timely and efficient audits.
• Support ongoing development of the division and processes.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual NAVs; prepare management accounts and IPDs.
• Prepare annual statutory financial statements.
