Job summary

TMF Group’s Fund Services division is seeking a skilled fund accounting professional to lead client-focused fund administration deliverables in the Western Cape. The role involves preparing financial statements, investor reporting, and coordinating audit and tax processes for alternative funds.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in fund accounting, IFRS knowledge, and ACCA/CA/CIMA or equivalent qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
• At least 3 years’ experience in Fund accounting for Alternative Funds (Private Equity, Real Estate, Private Debt) with at least 1 year as reviewer.
• Qualified accountant ideally ACCA, CA, or CIMA.
• Good knowledge of IFRS and ideally other GAAPs.
• Familiarity with Investran and/or Yardi would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of tax-efficient European fund structures and related investment vehicles and regulatory requirements would be advantageous.
• Other characteristics: accurate, self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team, deadline-driven and able to maintain a portfolio of clients.

• Managed client product delivery and fund administration processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial and investor reporting deliverables.
• Prepared and reviewed management accounts, financial statements, capital call and distribution notices, management fee calculations, and investor registers.
• Coordinated audit and tax processes, liaising with auditors and tax advisors to meet reporting deadlines.
• Served as a primary client contact, building strong stakeholder relationships and delivering exceptional client service.
• Led client meetings and collaborated with valuation, treasury, investor relations, and other key stakeholders.
• Supported the onboarding, training, and development of junior team members.
• Interpreted fund documentation and service agreements to ensure compliance with operational and reporting requirements.

These include Fund Administration, Investor Services, Portfolio & Managed Account Services, Depositary and Corporate Services.

Key Requirements
