Our client, a growing accounting firm, is looking for a Senior Full-Time Bookkeeper to join their team.
This role is essential for managing and overseeing advanced bookkeeping functions for clients.
Position Summary You will be responsible for recording and maintaining daily financial transactions in general ledgers up to the trial balance. These ledgers and trial balances are then used to create management reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and accounts receivable/payable reports.
Duties and Responsibilities
Record daily financial transactions and post them in accounting software.
Ensure the accuracy of the trial balance.
File electronic or hardcopy documents.
Review and issue management reports for clients.
Manage VAT reconciliation and submission.
Handle client interactions regarding bookkeeping.
Supervise bookkeeping team administrative tasks.
Review, approve, and create audit/financial statement packs.
Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Lead and guide the bookkeeping team.
Train, direct, and solve issues for team members.
Oversee daily operations and assist with staff management, including hiring, scheduling, performance reviews, and staff development.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Matric with good grades in mathematics/accounting.
Completed Certificate or Diploma in accounting/bookkeeping with hands-on experience.
Experience: At least 3-4 years in bookkeeping within an accounting practice.
Software Knowledge:
Xero accounting software.
Document management tools like Dext.
Payroll software like SimplePay.
SARS systems and Microsoft Office.
Skills and Attributes
