Senior Full-Stack Laravel Engineer

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site, role for a Full Stack Developer located in Umhlanga, Durban. As a Full Stack Developer, the candidate will be responsible for software development as it relates to back-end & front-end web development.

Core Skill Requirements (Essential):

• At least 7 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer.
• Experience with PHP and Laravel in an AWS environment is critical including the following skills:
• PHP v8.2+ and Laravel v10+ (TALL Stack)
• HTML5, CSS3 & modern JavaScript
• AWS (EC2, EB Stalk, Lambda, S3, RDS)
• MySQL and PostgreSQL

Technical Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience developing web applications, with a solid understanding of web architecture and protocols.
• Demonstrated ability to work on high-scale applications, with knowledge of scalability practices and design patterns.
• Hands-on experience with unit testing; familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) is advantageous.
• Good understanding of DevOps principles and practical experience in applying them is a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Proficient in containerization technologies such as Docker.
• Strong background working with Agile methodologies; you believe in agile values and practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Troubleshooting and system maintenance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to maintain existing legacy code base.
