Job summary

Profile Personnel is seeking a senior software engineer in Cape Town to own end-to-end feature development across the stack. You will work on backend services in Python/Java, craft frontend interfaces in React/TypeScript, and design robust data models in PostgreSQL.

Ideal candidates have strong experience with ETL pipelines, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), and Docker, with a proactive, user-centric approach to architecting solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience across the full stack.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language/framework (Python, Ruby, Node.js, Go, C#, Java) with ability to pick up new stacks quickly.
• Hands-on frontend experience building user-facing applications with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (React preferred).
• Strong relational database skills (PostgreSQL preferred) including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling.
• Experience building net-new product features from scratch, not just migrations or upgrades.
• User-centric design sensibility for operators.
• Comfort with ambiguity and driving tasks to completion with minimal hand-holding.
