Job summary

Placements24 in Cape Town, Western Cape, is seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to design, develop and deploy scalable web applications. The role combines front-end and back-end work with a hybrid on-site/remote model.

The candidate will mentor junior developers, collaborate with product teams, and help shape the technical direction of our products using modern tech such as React, Node.js, Python/Django, Java/Spring, and cloud services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role.
• Proven expertise in front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js) and back-end languages/frameworks (Node.js, Python/Django, Ruby/Rails, Java/Spring).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust and scalable full-stack web applications.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code for both front-end (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) and back-end (e.g., Node.js, Python/Django, Java/Spring) components.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain APIs and services for seamless integration with front-end applications and third-party systems.
• Implement and optimize database solutions (SQL and NoSQL).
• Ensure application performance, security, and scalability through best practices in development and deployment.
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior developers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and performance issues in production environments.
• Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging web technologies and industry trends.
