Placements24 is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer with Vue.js for a rapidly expanding educational technology company. This highly flexible, remote position lets you work from anywhere in South Africa, building and maintaining high-performance interfaces for the flagship EdTech platform.

You will collaborate with backend developers, UX/UI designers, and product managers to deliver features, optimize performance, and contribute to frontend architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of frontend development experience.
• Proven expertise in Vue.js and core JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Experience with state management (Vuex) and frontend build tools (Webpack, Vite).
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and Git version control.
• Understanding of cross-browser compatibility and responsive design.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain responsive user interfaces using Vue.js and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain responsive and engaging user interfaces using Vue.js and related technologies.

• Optimize application performance for speed, scalability, and a seamless user experience.
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, share knowledge, and mentor junior developers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve frontend bugs and issues.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging frontend technologies and best practices, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions for the frontend codebase.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in frontend development.
• Proven expertise in Vue.js and its core principles.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Vuex) and frontend build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite).
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and responsive design principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
