Placements24 seeks a Senior Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist to join the R&D team in Vereeniging, Gauteng. The role blends hands-on lab work with remote data analysis, guiding candidates from preclinical stages through clinical development.

You will design and optimize dosage forms, apply advanced drug delivery technologies, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure robust regulatory documentation and successful product pipelines.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field.
• 5+ years in formulation development with dosage forms.
• Experience with DoE and data analysis.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA/EMA/SAHPRA).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and optimize various dosage forms (tablets, capsules, injectables, topical).
• Investigate and apply novel drug delivery technologies to improve bioavailability and adherence.
• Conduct pre-formulation studies, API characterization, solubility and stability.
• Prepare formulation development plans, experimental design, execution and data analysis.
