Job description

We are recruiting for a full-time Senior Fixed Income Analyst role to be based on-site in the City of Cape Town.

The Senior Analyst will be part of a broader interest-bearing team and will have exposure to all aspects of interest-bearing research and Fund management.

The person will be responsible for researching, analyzing and providing relevant information and recommendations on interest bearing markets using both fundamental and quantitative techniques. This will include research covering aspects of economics, duration and market flow data to determine fair value across Fixed Income markets. Credit research will cover both listed and unlisted instruments, analyzing issuer data to estimate the degree of risk versus compensation involved in credit. The person will also act as back-up to bond and currency traders.

The Senior Fixed Income Analyst will be required to engage clients in report backs and new business development initiatives.

Qualifications

Degree in Finance, Economics, or related field

Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA) are a plus

10 years’ experience in Asset Management/Investments environment

Strong financial analysis and modeling skills

Experience in developing and implementing investment strategies

Excellent research and report-writing skills

Proficiency in monitoring portfolio performance and market trends
