Job description

Purpose of Role: Leading financial governance by managing the enabling functions and delivering on the position outputs of the Senior Financial Manager: Shared Services.

This includes financial reporting, working capital optimisation, internal control implementation, and monitoring.

Manage the finance function at a Shared Services level (full general ledger, accounts payable, intercompany), and drive successful completion of internal & external audit processes.

Advise on financial and commercial aspects relevant to operational matters.

Serve as a business partner to all regional FM's and operational teams.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Management and oversight of the full shared services function for five statutory entities.
  2. Management and oversight of the full accounts payable function for RSA.
  3. Management and optimisation of working capital levels, including review and approval of weekly cash forecasts, and general ledger reconciliation review (including payroll).
  4. Lead financial planning and analysis, including strategic business planning and forecasting.
  5. Liaising with internal and external auditors.
  6. Drive successful completion of external audits.
  7. Manage relationships and contracts with suppliers.
  8. Manage regional risk register and implement measures to mitigate risks.
  9. Drive system and process improvements.
  10. Staff management, coaching, and development to empower the finance team.
Primary Outputs
  1. Review and approve general ledger reconciliations, including payroll.
  2. Maximise cash collections.
  3. Manage the finance team effectively.
  4. Train and develop finance employees.
  5. Implement and review internal controls and corporate governance.
  6. Manage customer relationships.
  7. Manage and, where applicable, compile business plans and forecasts.
  8. Oversee and implement finance and operational improvement projects.
  9. Coordinate internal & external audits and address audit deficiencies promptly.
Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies

Minimum required qualification: Bachelor of Commerce Degree or relevant tertiary qualification; CA (SA) or extensive experience as a financial manager in various regions and countries.

Minimum required experience: At least 8 years post-articles experience, with a minimum of 3 years in senior management.
