• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CA(SA), ACCA or CIMA professional qualification essential.
• Minimum 7 years in financial management with 3+ in a senior role.

About the Role

Our client, a well-established financial services institution operating within the Northern Cape , is seeking to appoint a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Manager . This critical role, based in Upington , will oversee the financial operations of the region, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will possess a strong command of financial accounting principles, management accounting, and financial reporting. You will be responsible for managing financial risks, developing budgets, forecasting, and providing key financial insights to support business decisions. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Develop and implement robust internal financial controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Manage cash flow, optimize working capital, and ensure efficient financial operations.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
• Develop and manage the annual budget process, working closely with department heads.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant South African financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
• Provide financial guidance and support to senior management and other departments.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and banking institutions.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA, or CIMA is essential.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS, South African tax laws, and corporate finance principles.
• Proven experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, and forecasting.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
• Experience working in the Northern Cape region is a significant advantage.
