Their North Star metrics revolve around accuracy, speed, and control, such as the number of days to close the books, audit readiness (including clean audit reports), and precision in revenue recognition for subscription revenue. By anchoring their work in these metrics, the Controller ensures that financial reporting is trustworthy, audit processes are smooth, and regulatory risks are minimised.
