Job description

Job Advert: Senior Financial Controller - Remote Working Position with First Group. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Financial Controller to contribute to a dynamic and growing organization.

Key Performance Areas:

  1. Accounting and Financial Reporting: Oversee all accounting and financial reporting activities.
  2. Team Management & Mentoring: Lead and mentor the accounting team.
  3. Financial Pack Preparation: Prepare monthly and annual financial packs for review.
  4. Audit Support: Prepare annual audit packs and income tax schedules; liaise with auditors to assist in completing year-end audits.
  5. Financial Statements: Draft Annual Financial Statements using Caseware.
  6. Monthly Reports: Prepare monthly financial reports for presentation to the Board of Directors and Trustees.
  7. Budgeting and Long-Term Planning: Prepare and maintain annual budgets, 10-year maintenance plans, and 5-year replacement plans.
  8. General Ledger Management: Manage the General Ledger, including accruals, provisions, inter-group reconciliations for loan accounts, and debtors/creditors.
  9. Business and Financial Support: Provide support to departmental managers, Property Regional, and General Managers.
  10. SOPs and Documentation: Assist in drafting standard operating procedures and documenting process flows within the accounting department.
  11. Statutory Reporting: Prepare and submit statutory reports.
  12. Asset & Stock Management: Maintain fixed asset registers and stock schedules.
  13. System Reconciliation: Ensure accurate reconciliation of subsystems to the accounting system.
  14. Adhoc Tasks: Handle additional tasks as required.
