Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join our team in Johannesburg. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial insights and analysis to support our business growth and decision-making processes.
The successful candidate will possess excellent statistical and analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of financial systems and processes.
Purpose of Role :
- Develop advanced financial models to quantify the correlation between risk and portfolio dynamics, including migrations, volume/balance transitions, and risk emergence.
- Perform cash-flow forecasting for existing and new sales portfolios.
- Automate, monitor, and ensure governance of models, strategies, budget variances, and operational metrics.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform financial analysis and modeling to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
- Monitor financial performance, identify trends, and provide insights to management.
- Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with teams to develop performance metrics and monitoring systems.
- Support business case development and financial justifications for projects.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and conduct financial due diligence.
- Prepare and present reports to stakeholders.
- Improve financial models and forecasting techniques.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and governance.
- Monitor market trends and competitor analysis.
- Mentor junior analysts.
Qualifications and Experience :
- Honours Quantitative Degree (minimum); Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, RE1) preferred.
- At least 4 years of statistical modeling experience in finance.
- Experience as a Financial Analyst in a senior role.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, modeling, and forecasting.
- Proficiency in tools like Excel, SAP, ERP systems.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and governance.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience in financial due diligence is a plus.
- Knowledge of South African financial regulations is preferred.
Critical Software :
- MS Office (Advanced Excel), SQL, SAS, Power BI, Matlab
