Job description

  • A BCom degree in accounting or finance, or a related qualification is essential for this role.
  • Previous experience having worked in a Financial Accountant role is essential.
  • The successful candidate must have a strong knowledge of South African tax legislation as well as VAT etc.
  • Must be proficient in accounting software (Sage or similar) with advanced Excel skills.
  • Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience having worked within the chemical or supply chain or logistics or related manufacturing or distribution industries is preferred.

The successful candidate will be responsible for :

  • Reporting to the FD you will be overseeing the financial accounting, reporting, compliance, and internal controls of the company.
  • Ensuring accurate financial reporting and statutory compliance, while supporting decision-making processes with insightful financial analysis.
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Managing general ledger accounts and ensure accurate month-end closures.
  • Processing accounts payable and receivable as well as conducting variance analysis.
  • Ensuring compliance with local accounting standards and assisting with budget preparation and forecasting.
  • Supporting internal and external audit processes as well as preparing management reports and financial analysis.
  • Assisting in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models for strategic planning.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including procurement, production, supply chain, and sales within the company.
