Financial Accountant Pinelands Cape Town

Our Client in Pinelands Area South Suburbs Cape Town is looking for an experienced Financial Accountant with 5 years post experience looking for a Financial Manager role. YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED SAICA / SAIPA ARTICLES.

Salary: Negotiable (office-based work)

Min Qualification and Requirements

1. Degree in the following: BCom, BCompt, BAcc
2. You must HAVE COMPLETED SAIPA / SAICA Articles
3. A minimum of 5 years post SAIPA / SAICA articles experience
4. Financial Accounting / Management experience
5. Proven ability in Sage One Payroll (30 staff) and Sage One Accounting System would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

1. Financial management - Financial control of the Head Office and coordinate the financial activities.
2. Managing the Financial Department with 2 other staff members (small but busy).
3. Budgeting - Oversee the overall corporate budgeting preparation, financial management, and financial monitoring processes.
4. Financial Analysis and Reporting.
5. Ensure that the financial reports are prepared and delivered on time.
6. Review financial data for accuracy, correctness, and completeness.
7. Financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses, etc.
8. Make sure annual financial statements are prepared and are appropriate before submission to the Board for ratification.
9. Participate in performance evaluation of finance staff and conduct counselling sessions to identify skill development needs.
10. Ensure accurate calculation and distribution of salaries and other benefits to employees.
11. Perform the monthly Payroll run on the Payroll system (Bookkeeper to assist).
12. Monthly EMP201 reconciliation and submissions.
13. Perform VAT submissions for all entities.
14. EMP501 reconciliations and submission.
15. Preparation and submission of IRP5’s.
16. Establish key financial strategies to enhance business profitability.
17. Review annual budgets and recommend any changes if needed.
18. Assist in account payable and receivable activities.
19. Perform account reconciliation activities.
20. Audit - Prepare the financial system and documentation for the external annual audit.
21. Administration, financial management of data, and execution of the strategic planning activities in relation to finance.
22. Attend Executive Board meetings and give action to decisions related to matters of finance.
23. Liaise with auditors in relation to preparing for the annual general audit.
24. Tax and other legislative submissions.
