Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for their team in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.

Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Strong knowledge of tax and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience in cost accounting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Syspro, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across departments.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with the company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax, VAT, and statutory obligations.
  • Manage and oversee the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Monitor and analyse manufacturing costs, inventory valuations, and gross margins.
  • Provide accurate financial reports and variance analysis to management, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Lead and support year-end audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
  • Mentor and guide junior finance team members, promoting best practices and professional development.
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.
  • Support strategic initiatives and continuous improvement projects within finance and operations.
