The ideal candidate will have a BCom Accounting CA (SA) and at least 5 years of senior finance experience, especially within the manufacturing or automotive industries. Key responsibilities include managing financial reports, overseeing audits, and ensuring IFRS compliance. Strong skills in advanced Excel and ERP systems are advantageous.

Job description

Job Purpose : To ensure statutory compliance by compiling and providing accurate and timely financial information to management, enabling informed business decisions.

Education : BCom Accounting CA (SA) advantageous

Experience : Minimum 5 years’ senior experience in Finance, manufacturing or automotive experience advantageous. Strong management background in all audit preparations.

Key Performance Areas :

  • Reporting to the Head of Accounting.
  • Financial Reporting : Prepare financial reports and returns for internal and external use. Provide financial analysis and support to management. Review and act on financial variances (Budget / Forecast / Estimate). Ensure IFRS compliance. Submit monthly and annual reports on reporting platform (OneStream). Functional currency reporting.
  • General Ledger : Prepare provisions and accruals. Prepare general ledger journals with support. Conduct monthly GL reconciliations (BS & IS) as per group requirements and address variances. Ensure timely and accurate closing. Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Internal Control : Ensure compliance with Global Control Framework (GCF), Delegation of Authority (DoA), and company policies. Prepare and submit monthly control checks as per GCF. Maintain the risk register.
  • Budget / Forecast : Prepare and consolidate detailed annual budgets and medium-term forecasts. Prepare and consolidate monthly short-term forecasts (P/L & BS) and glidepaths. Prepare and consolidate weekly flash reports and month-end estimates.
  • CAPEX, Tooling & Fixed Assets : Maintain CAPEX and tooling reports and registers. Track actual spend against approved budgets. Plan future profitability and cash flows. Prepare CAPEX requisitions and analysis. Support useful life and residual value assessments. Handle lease accounting.
  • Audits and Year-End Processes : Plan and prepare for year-end statutory audits (internal and external). Prepare reporting packs for accounting, audit, and tax. Support internal audits and closure of findings. Assist with BBBEE audits.
  • NWC & Cash Management : Manage net working capital and cash flow forecasting. Handle supplier payments.
  • Intercompany : Perform intercompany reconciliations and ensure zero discrepancies at month-end.
  • Forex : Prepare forex forecasts. Book FEC contracts as per AP requirements and review Excon applications.
  • Statutory Returns and Taxes : Oversee tax compliance. Review VAT returns. Support WCA, PAYE, and provisional/income tax returns. Prepare government incentive applications. Prepare BBBEE reports.
  • Insurance : Prepare insurance declarations. File claims for losses.
  • Other : Compile and review sales reports. Perform other duties as assigned.
