CA Financial Appointments is seeking a commercially minded finance leader to help a growing food manufacturer improve margins, cash flow and factory-floor decision making.

You will sit on the management team, report to the MD and shape how the business prices, produces and grows. If you enjoy partnering with operations and driving measurable impact, this role is for you.

Qualifications

• CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA or an equivalent professional qualification.
• 7-10 years' financial management experience, ideally at a senior level.
• Manufacturing experience, preferably in food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Strong knowledge of management accounting, product costing and inventory valuation.
• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and audit management.
• Advanced Excel skills and Syspro ERP experience.
• The ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial managers.
• Commercial acumen, sound judgement and a hands-on, proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial management, monthly management accounts and month-end and year-end processes.
• Build and maintain product costing models across raw materials, packaging, labour and overheads.
• Partner with the Factory Manager to track yields, wastage, labour efficiency and cost variances.
• Lead the annual budget and rolling forecasts for sales, production, costs and cash flow.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, debtors, creditors and banking relationships.
• Strengthen controls over stock, purchasing, payments and capital expenditure.
• Analyse product, customer and channel profitability to guide pricing and negotiations.
• Coordinate external audits and ensuring tax, VAT and statutory compliance.
• Lead and develop the finance team and improving reporting through Syspro
