Purpose of the Position:
You are responsible for forward-looking financial information and commercial insight and will support with evaluation of business cases, preparation of margin / scenario / sensitivity analysis and consolidate annual budget and periodic forecasts.
Key Performance Objectives
Provide consolidated planning and targets for MAH group
- Responsible for budget and rolling forecast process
- Consolidate and perform financial statement analysis of budgets and forecasts.
- Identify and monitor causal financial relationships to assess reasonability of projections and to act as early warnings when corrective action is required.
- Manage timelines with all African markets to ensure all deadlines are adhered to.
- Prepare budget and rolling forecast presentations and assess all inputs for accuracy and ensure sufficient detail is included to support financial impacts.
- Design and implement dynamic and flexible budgeting and forecasting processes that enhance the timely allocation of resources.
- Create different scenarios to facilitate scenario planning, integrate with actual results to analyse trends and extrapolate future impacts.
- Co-ordinate target setting, planning, budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Analysis of monthly reports for Budgets and forecasts, forecast vs actual performance and sensitivity analysis.
Perform Financial Planning and Analysis- Assist and support senior management with business cases / opportunities and feedback with key recommendations, risks and next steps.
- Perform breakeven and financial analysis using appropriate financial tools (NPV, IRR) to support decision making including external benchmarking to develop strategies and to drive growth.
- Run detailed financial models for revenue and subsidy by managing large data sets in a logical and consistent manner to assist in strategic initiatives and critical decisions.
- Ensure product margin information is kept accurate, up to date and include additional insights whereby margins become the cornerstone of operational decision-making.
- Strong understanding of cashflows and working capital management including examining the receivable collection period, inventory conversion period and payable payment period.
- Support decision making by providing stakeholders with timely, detailed and meaningful insights and visibility on business performance.
- Development, implementation and post implementation maintenance of driver-based models within SAP BPC to provide self-service to subsidiary finance teams and streamline consolidation of the model results.
- Provide key metric information to management by continuously considering ongoing activities in the business and identify new ways to approach tasks to obtain better insight to strategic objectives.
- Challenge the status quo, be a champion of continuous improvement, step out of comfort zones, be misunderstood and continuously tweak the approach until the solution is found.
Qualifications & Experience- CA (SA)
- New qualified CA, post article experience in a similar role would be advantageous
- Demonstrable experience in financial modelling and scenario analysis
- Defining and implementing automation and process improvement
- Sound knowledge of financial accounting principles
- Computer proficiency, including use of:
- MS Office (Advanced Excel),
- SAP and BPC system experience
- HFM and
- Great Plains (added advantage)
