Job description

Our client is a boutique safari company that has been operating since 2011, originally specialising in Kruger National Park safaris. They have since expanded their offerings to include game drives on Pridelands and are now preparing to host their own guests at exclusive camps, where experienced guides will lead drives and walking safaris (pending approval). They are currently seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, and passionate field guide to join their dynamic team based in Hoedspruit.

This role is ideal for someone who genuinely loves guiding, particularly in Kruger and the surrounding private reserves. The ideal candidate will be driven by a deep passion for the Kruger National Park and the Greater Kruger area, helping create unforgettable experiences for guests. With this client, you'll have the freedom to shape and deliver personalised guest experiences without being constrained by rigid lodge protocols; your creativity and authenticity are key.

Please note: This is NOT a lodge position.

Responsibilities:

1. Conducting full-day drives as well as overnight safaris in the Kruger National Park, along with morning and afternoon drives on a private concession.
2. Conducting guided game drives, guided tours, and transfers in the area.

Requirements:

• Based in Hoedspruit or be prepared to relocate (accommodation can be provided).
• Valid Public Drivers License (PDP).
• Valid & Current First Aid Certificate.
• CATHSSETA registered with guiding card.
• Valid security clearance for private reserves (polygraph test results); this can be organised.
• Own reliable transport.
• Friendly, warm, and enthusiastic personality; must love people, not just wildlife!
• Must be an independent spirit that proactively takes the lead in all activities.
• Performance bonus every 6-12 months (based on the outcome of your performance review, financial status of the company, and reviews from guests).
• SATIB Professional Guide Insurance package (optional).

Education:

Valid Public Drivers License (PDP), Valid & Current First Aid Certificate, CATHSSETA registered with guiding card, Minimum NQF4 - Level 2 guide.
