Job summary

Placements24 in Rustenburg seeks a Geologist to join our exploration team in the North West. You will identify geological formations for mineral and energy resources, conduct field surveys, and interpret data to guide exploration strategies and decision making.

The role requires a BSc or MSc in Geology or related Earth Science, at least 5 years’ experience, proficiency in ArcGIS, Leapfrog and Vulcan, plus core logging and resource estimation expertise.

Qualifications

BSc or MSc in Geology or related Earth Science.
Minimum 5 years of mineral or energy exploration experience.
Proficiency in geological mapping and software (ArcGIS, Leapfrog, Vulcan).

Responsibilities

Plan and execute geological field mapping, sampling, and drilling programs.
Analyze and interpret geological data, including core logging, geochemical assays, and geophysical surveys.
Create cross-sections, contour maps, and 3D models of subsurface geology.
Prepare geological reports and resource estimations.
Collaborate with geophysicists, geochemists, and mining engineers to define exploration targets.
Ensure field activities adhere to safety and environmental plans in the Rustenburg region.
