Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding telecommunications infrastructure company, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Fibre Network Deployment Specialist to manage and oversee fibre network construction projects in Kimberley, Northern Cape . This hands‑on role is critical for ensuring the timely and quality deployment of our high‑speed fibre optic networks. You will be responsible for project planning, site supervision, quality control, and stakeholder coordination to deliver robust and reliable fibre infrastructure. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of fibre optic installation techniques, project management skills, and a commitment to safety and excellence. Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage fibre optic network deployment projects from initial planning through to final commissioning. Supervise field teams, contractors, and technicians engaged in fibre cable installation, splicing, and testing. Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Develop and manage project schedules, resource allocation, and risk mitigation plans. Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine optimal deployment routes and methodologies. Oversee the installation of fibre optic cables, conduit, splice closures, and associated network equipment. Perform and verify fibre optic testing using OTDR, power meters, and other relevant equipment. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Maintain detailed project documentation, including as‑built drawings, test results, and progress reports. Liaise with local authorities, property owners, and other stakeholders to facilitate network deployment.

Requirements

National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in fibre optic network deployment and construction management. Strong understanding of fibre optic technologies, including cable types, splicing techniques, and testing procedures. Proven experience in project management, including planning, scheduling, and resource management. Knowledge of civil works, trenching, duct laying, and aerial deployment methods. Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., SCTE, ISO). Excellent leadership, problem‑solving, and organizational skills. Proficiency in reading and interpreting network designs and blueprints. Strong commitment to health and safety in the workplace. Must be based in or willing to relocate to Kimberley, Northern Cape .
