Job Title: Senior Facilities Manager

About the Role

Are you our next Senior Facilities Manager at our client’s Nike, Johannesburg office and Soweto Sports Facility?

The Site Lead will be responsible for leading the delivery of the local FM services for Nike. As the Site Lead, you will provide direct leadership to the operational Facility Management team and create an environment of accountability to provide facilities management services across the site. You will interface with different groups across the organization to ensure timely and seamless delivery. The Site Lead will respond to a wide variety of on-site requests, providing proactive, knowledgeable, engaged service, while creatively exceeding expectations.

What You Will Bring
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Facilities Management, Project Management, or related diploma/degree) with at least 5 years of experience. Alternatively, candidates without formal qualifications should have 10+ years of proven experience in Facilities Management.
  • Strong leadership qualities to drive performance across the expanding business and team.
  • Ability to manage direct reports and teams.
  • Experience in Facilities Management, preferably with an engineering or hospitality background.
  • Experience in community stakeholder management.
  • Proven experience managing a P&L.
  • Strong technical knowledge/background.
  • Business proficiency in English.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivation, organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other management systems.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Ensure overall contract performance, including compliance, KPI management, cost savings, and customer satisfaction.
  • Enable the local team to deliver desired outcomes proactively and collaboratively.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and advocate for innovative workplace solutions.
  • Provide coaching, operational expertise, and solutions.
  • Implement initiatives like savings programs, HSSE, training, KPI execution, and succession planning.
  • Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to drive value creation and innovation.
  • Manage change, multiple projects, and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Establish effective relationships with local customers and interact with client personnel at all levels.
  • Present client reports as scheduled.
  • Contribute to service and financial performance of the contract.
  • Prepare and manage the facilities management budget.
  • Review and analyze complex financial and business reports to generate solutions.
  • Ensure health, safety, security, and environmental standards are met.
  • Adhere to applicable laws, policies, and best practices.
  • Manage external stakeholder involvement and community interactions.
Day-to-Day Facilities Management
  • Oversee site FM services ensuring service levels are met.
  • Coordinate with the Landlord on services, site changes, and projects.
  • Manage logistics for goods and services.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS procedures, reporting incidents, and managing work orders.
  • Complete site reports and manage supply partner processes.
Customer Focus
  • Ensure a high standard of experience for employees and community members.
  • Communicate regularly with after-hours staff.
  • Manage purchasing and financial requirements for facilities.
